Professor Kirsty Sanderson, Chair in Applied Health Research, School of Health Sciences Deputy Lead, Mental Health Across the Life Course | Workplace Wellbeing

Join C3 and SOM for our first #Workplace health seminar of the year!

Professor Kristy Sanderson joined UEA in January 2017 as Chair in Applied Health Research in the School of Health Sciences. She is a psychiatric epidemiologist and has been a registered psychologist earlier in her career. Prof Sanderson’s research programme is addressing an NHS national priority area on how to attract and retain a workforce of the future, through improving the way we support staff and learners in the health and social care systems.

Current projects are exploring how to promote mental health and reduce suicide risk in ambulance staff and learners, strategies to improve sleep quality and reduce fatigue in health staff, and supporting the wellbeing of care home workers during the pandemic.

She leads the Workforce Sustainability Research Group of UEA Health & Social Care Partners and is Deputy Lead for the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) East of England Mental Health Over the Life Course theme, where she leads the Workforce Wellbeing workstream. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health and a member of the Society for Occupational Health.
