The benefits of physical activity for health and well‐being

This review provides a snapshot of the scientific evidence of the benefits of physical activity on health, well‐being, and prevention of non-communicable disease (NCDs). It also presents six case studies as promising examples of ‘what works’ in different contexts from around the world.

Review: The benefits of physical activity for health and well-being explores:

  1. the impact of physical activity on health
  2. a literature review of the evidence of physical activity’s benefits for health
  3. the evidence on physical activity interventions

We also highlight six examples of innovative physical activity interventions from our global network members.
