With a small but mighty team, Tobacco Free Portfolios launched the Tobacco-Free Finance Pledge at United Nations’ headquarters in New York in 2018. To date, there are 160 Signatories with combined assets of US$11.4 trillion, including some of the world’s largest pension plans, banks, insurers and asset managers.

This pivotal work was described by Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of the World Health Organization as “the missing piece of global tobacco control” and provides renewed hope that the tobacco epidemic can one day be brought to an end.
